Winter Months

We did move to Indian Pointe Marina and it's been great. We've sent out our fall newsletters and hope that all know where we are. Unfortunately, our phone number transfer ceased to work, but hopefully all know we are here, and the word is spreading. The marina is a great place and we are FINALLY ON THE WATER. Every customer has come into 2031 Morewood Road in Hardy, VA 24101 to wish us well and look at the line. The love the new location.

We have new boats, pre-owned boats, a new shop garage, a convenience store, wet and dry slips, and gas on site. It's been exciting and wonderful getting to the marina, and we finally feel at home. After 5 months, we are almost completely settled and doing major organizing and reshuffling. My husband and I spend every weekend at the marina just organizing, billing, rebilling, and getting things in order. It's full winterization time and we've priced our basic and full service to be competitive with all the marina's on the lake. Our techs have worked extremely hard on getting boats winterized and we are proud of their efforts. With the first real jaunt of cold weather, people are really calling in to get their boats winterized. We have been blessed in so many ways!!! The weekend is here, but there is no rest for us...Friday night until9:00PM and bright and early for Saturday and Sunday--our dedication is boundless: after all, it's our business and we take that obligation seriously.

The Crappie USA Kids tournament was this past weekend, and my husband and I drove to the marina at 5:00 AM because we promised the tournament fisherman we would be there with piping hot coffee and bait for them to use. The fog was thick like grey cotton and it was uncharacteristically warm. A giant buck ran in front of us and like The Lone Ranger, I yelled out the window, "Run, big buck, run"...you see it was also the opening day of rifle season. A drizzle drenched the area and buoyed our favorite low lying lady, the lake. As the tide inched up, the rain came down, sprinkles to downpours to sudden spots of blinding sun...it was a wet, summer day in the midst of November.
